Date: May 19, 2021 Location: Virtual Event This virtual seminar provides the training required to become approved to perform the Field Quality Control Supervisor (FQCS) function required under ODOT specifications or to acquire re-approval after five years since the previous training. This session will include training on paving fundamentals and best practices as well as Porous Asphalt Pavement construction to receive an endorsement to construct Porous Asphalt Pavement. The Ohio Asphalt Paving Conference is a collaborative effort of state and local government, academia and the asphalt industry to present practical, usable technologies and strategies for the design and construction of asphalt pavements. The virtual conference includes two consecutive days of online presentations with a morning and afternoon session on February 3rd and a morning session on February 4th. Professional Development Hours will be awarded for completion of the Seminar. Please note individual email addresses are required for the purpose of tracking attendance for Professional Development Hours. Only paid registrants will qualify for Professional Development Hours based on the number of sessions in which an attendee participated.

Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) is pleased to present the 2020 Asphalt Pavement Technical Seminar in a virtual format and includes a total of four sessions during two consecutive days of online education. Presentations for the 2020 Virtual Asphalt Pavement Technical Seminar include: November 17 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Pavement Maintenance & Repair Including Drainage, Crack Sealing/Filling & Thinlays 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM: Overlay Thickness Structural Design November 18 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Rehabilitation Techniques: Overlays with Repairs, Fractured Slab, Structural Overlays & Pavement Replacement 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM: Mix Type and Layer Thickness Selection, Surface Preparation and the Use of Tack Presentations will be provided by FPO’s technical staff members: Cliff Ursich, PE, President & Executive Director Bill Fair, PE, Director of Engineering Services Jim Marszal, PE, Pavements, Materials and Field Applications Engineer John Crane, PE, Pavements, Materials and Field Applications Engineer Who Should Participate? Government agency engineering and public works professionals tasked with the design, construction, inspection and maintenance of local transportation infrastructure. Engineering consultants tasked with local and commercial transportation infrastructure design and construction management. Asphalt construction contractors and producers. Professional Development Hours: A maximum of six Professional Development Hours will be awarded for completion of the Seminar. Only paid registrants will qualify for Professional Development Hours based on the number of sessions in which an attendee participated. Date & Time: The virtual seminar has been scheduled for November 17 & 18, 2020. The virtual seminar includes two consecutive days of online instruction with two sessions from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on each day. Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) is accepting nominations for the 2020 Quality Asphalt Paving Awards, the Ecological Award, and the Master Craftsman Award. Nominations for the Quality Asphalt Paving Awards are being accepted for work performed during the 2020 construction season. Quality Asphalt Paving Award nominations are being accepted for Ohio Department of Transportation/Ohio Turnpike Projects, Local Roads or Streets, Commercial Parking Facilities, Special Use Pavements and Airport Pavements. The Ecological Award was established to recognize asphalt production facilities that best demonstrate safe and responsible environmental practices. Facilities will be judged on design layout, clean operation, maintenance performance practice, and community awareness activities. The Master Craftsman Award recognizes contractors whose work has stood the test of time. The winner of this award will be acknowledged for a commitment to quality workmanship, exhibited by exemplary pavement performance. The award recipient will be selected from pavements with an existing surface course having given acceptable service for 15-years or more and continues to provide exceptional service. Nominations for all award categories must be received at the FPO office by October 23 with a final deadline for award nominations on November 13. Date: Monday, February 24, 2020 - Friday, February 28, 2020 Event Location: Ohio University Lancaster Campus; 1570 Granville Pike; Lancaster, OH 43130 This course meets the requirements for Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) HT.306, Asphalt Level 3 training. It is designed to give the participants a working knowledge of the principles associated with asphalt concrete volumetric mix design. On the final day of the course, students will have the opportunity to take the ODOT examination for Level 3 Asphalt Concrete Technician approval.
